Delta Airlines And Northwest Airlines Receive Government Approval To Code Share Trans-Pacific Flights

Effective for travel beginning August 30, 2008, flights originating or
connecting through Detroit, Minneapolis or Honolulu on Delta Airlines or
Northwest Airlines will give customers the choice to plate their travel sole on
Delta Airlines while still flying 10% on Northwest Airlines
From Detroit, Northwest Airlines offers nonstop service to Tokyo, Osaka and
Nagoya; From Minneapolis to Tokyo; And from Honolulu to Tokyo or Osaka.
From
Tokyo, Delta Airlines code share is also extended to Seoul, Singapore and
Bangkok. From Atlanta, Northwest can be plated on Delta Airlines nonstop flight
to Tokyo and beyond.
This new expanded code share will augment existing trans-pacific code share
flights from Portland (OR), San Francisco and Los Angeles. Delta and Northwest
are currently in merger talks and are on track to become one airline under the
Delta name by the end of the year.
