Low-Cost Carrier ExpressJet To Cease Operation On Sept. 2, '08. What Cities Will Lose Service?

ExpressJet, which operates a fleet of 205 aircraft, will cease operating under its branded name on September 2, 2008.

ExpressJet is another airline going it alone by offering nonstop service from many smaller regional airports. ExpressJet has 39 aircraft that fly under the ExpressJet name and plans to return these planes to the lessor by June 2009.

Two reasons ExpressJet is shutting down are fuel prices and Delta Air Lines. ExpressJet was a Delta Connection carrier that served as a feeder for Delta in Los Angeles and Salt Lake City. On September 1, Delta and ExpressJet will terminate their partnership. ExpressJet still has a long-term contract with Houston-based Continental Airlines.

ExpressJet's big hype to the consumer was that they had no middle seats.

If you are holding a ticket on ExpressJet for travel after September 1, 2008, you can call 1-888-958-XJET to request a refund. Listed below are the routes served by ExpressJet:
