Delta Flight Attendants Vote On UnionLast Updated: April 24, 2008
Delta Air Lines said on Tuesday its flight attendants are set to vote between April 23 and June 3 on whether to join a union. Delta cautioned the workers, saying flight attendants currently have a better working relationship with management than unionized peers at rival airlines.

British Airways said today it had no current plans to bid for Iberia, after a newspaper speculated it was preparing an offer for the Spanish carrier. BA said last week it had bought about another 3 percent of Iberia, taking its stake to 13.15 percent.

Aloha Airgroup, parent of Aloha Airlines, has filed for bankruptcy protection and blamed "predatory pricing" by competitor Mesa Airlines for its troubles. The company, which employs 3,500, had emerged from bankruptcy protection about two years ago.

AirTran Airways Imposes Second Checked Bag FeeLast Updated: April 22, 2008
This morning AirTran Airways became the latest airline to introduce a fee to check a second bag, though the carrier plans to charge $10 compared with the $25 fee adopted by most legacy airlines. AirTran said it plans to assess the charge for travel beginning May 15, 1008.

British Airways plans to launch an airline serving the United States from continental Europe in June. In a nod to the historic agreement that makes an operation outside its home country possible, the new carrier is to be called OpenSkies.
